The National Centre for Writing is based at the historic Dragon Hall in Norwich, where the newly constructed south wing will welcome some of the 20,000 young people we will engage for ambitious school projects in the next year. Workshops and mentoring will be available for writers at all levels, both face-to-face and online.
Venue: Norwich Arts Centre. We will begin this ten-week course by exploring practical ways to discover the writer within, and break down creative boundaries. Moving on, we will look at the basics of form, with close reading of examples from published writers.
In our MA Creative Writing (Poetry) we aim to support you in writing poetry of a publishable standard, and to create an encouraging but rigorous environment. You’ll join UEA’s renowned creative writing community in Norwich, a beautiful and historic UNESCO City of Literature.
As a Creative City of Literature, Norwich envisages: developing the Writers’ Centre Norwich into a national centre for writing. The centre, which has had an international component for many years, has championed connectivity and collaboration.
